PGA Designed Golf Course
George Cobb Design

Celebrating 60 years of legendary golf at one of Jacksonville’s leading private golf courses.

Experience the tradition of the 7,261 yard Championship tees at Deerwood Country Club, one of the most prestigious golf courses in Jacksonville, Florida.

In 1960, golf architect George Cobb put Deerwood Country Club on the map by designing a stunning course that would eventually draw the attention of professional golfers, including competitors who came to Deerwood for the Greater Jacksonville Open (now known as THE PLAYERS Championship).

In 2004, Deerwood Country Club’s entire golf facility underwent a comprehensive renovation. During this time, award-winning golf architect Brian Silva developed a brand-new, par-72 course with six sets of tees ranging from 5,228 yards for the reds to 7,261 yards for the championship tees.

Deerwood Country Club continues to attract some of the finest golfers in the game, from bona fide professionals to experienced amateur competitors.

Children and teenagers interested in developing their golf skills are welcome to join our PGA Junior program. We offer a developmental program including weekly clinics and golf schools. Deerwood is also an active participant in the PGA Junior Golf League, including two teams. Our tournament schedule includes three major events as well as a variety of entertaining social events throughout the year.

Our members and guests typically spend four hours and 15 minutes enjoying our breathtaking 18-hole championship course. With five sets of tees, the course provides a friendly layout for the beginner golfer as well as a challenge for the expert golfer.

Hole Description

The ideal tee shot on this dogleg right opening Par 5 should be up the left center. Longer hitters who successfully challenge the fairway bunker on the right will be rewarded with an opportunity to get on or around the green on their second shot. A penalty area on the left side and a well-positioned tree on the right narrows the second shot and places a premium on direction. A relatively flat, slightly elevated green with bunkers short right and a chipping area to the left.
